Raised in Australia, as a war refugee from former Yugoslavia, Pejić was first discovered for modelling as a teen and has since become an inspiration to the international fashion industry, LGBTIQ+ community and wider culture. She is also an actress first spotted in “The Girl in The Spider’s Web” opposite Clare Foy. She has appeared in “Daliland” directed by Mary Harron opposite Ben Kinsley and Barbra Sukowa playing the iconic Amanda Lear. This appears to be the most challenging task for us. The character is strongly defined by a very specific look required to achieve the intended effect, which is essential to the role. For this reason, it would be complicated (BUT not impossible) to find an actress with an extraordinary power of transformation who also meets these requirements. There is a sorte of risk that, even with a strong actress, we may not achieve the desired effect if the outward appearance cannot be convincingly achieved through performance and af course approproate makeup overdoze. 🙂
We therefore decided to pursue an alternative approach and focus on candidates who would, in a sense, “play themselves.” While many of these candidates are highly popular and may be difficult to reach—or perhaps not—we will see how it unfolds.
Additionally, there is the option of casting a local actress who may not be widely known but could be a perfect fit for the role.
