
Žarko Laušević Biography:
Žarko Laušević was born on January 19, 1960 in Cetinje, Montenegro, Yugoslavia.
Žarko fell in love with theater and acting as an adolescent. He attended the theater section while he was attending the primary school. At the age of 16 he became the champion of Yugoslavia in the recitation of poetry. At 18, he already got his first role on television.
At age 22, he graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, in the class of professor Mina Dedic. In 1982, immediately after graduating from the University, he received the first major film role. At the same time he became an actor in the Yugoslav Drama Theater, where he played numerous roles of historical importance in the culture of Yugoslavia and other Balkan countries.
Well-known playwrights, theatrical figures, directors noticed the magnificent talent, courage, rebellious spirit, and it was him who entrusted the roles of the most significant figures of Serbian history, both in the theater and in the cinema.
Žarko had a special talent, he knew how to convey emotions through his roles
like no other. No doubt he was considered one of the most talented actors of
his generation.
A wide audience fell in love with him from the first appearance on the big screens. His debut took place in the film “Run”, 1982. During the 1980s and 1990s, he received mainly leading roles in more than 25 films, 17 television shows and numerous theater productions throughout Yugoslavia. During this period he became one of the most popular theater and film actor in Yugoslavia. Although he was young, handsome and very charismatic, it was thescope of his dramatic skill that brought him fame in Yugoslavia and beyond.
In 1989, he played one of the most important roles in his career, Milos Obilic in the movie “Battle on Kosovo”. Legendary movie for Serbian history!
Due to tragic circumstances, Žarko must to have made a long break in his career, from 1993 to 2015. Žarko wrote three books about his life. Not only because people adored him, but also because of the writing gift he possessed, the books he wrote were widely known and among the most widely readin the country. There were no differences among generations of readers, everyone read with great interest and waited for his books, which for many people were very instructive. He, as the hero of a tragic fate and an open heart, spoke freely about his personal tragedies and sufferings.
His return in 2015 on big screens was watched by enthusiastic millions auditory, movie with title name ” Stinky Fairytale”. The number of admirers showed that the audience truly missed him and that he is a Great name in Yugoslavan cinematography which cannot be forgotten!
After his big comeback , from time 2015 until 2020, Zarko played in 7 big project all the MAIN or significant roles! Such as: “The Roots”, ” The Black Sun”, “The Five”, “Civil servant”, “Fathers of freedom”, etc.
Zarko Lausevic is considered one of the most respected Serbian artists of all time!
