BIOGRAPHY:
Raised in Australia, as a war refugee from former Yugoslavia, Pejić was first discovered for modelling as a teen and has since become an inspiration to the international fashion industry, LGBTIQ+ community and wider culture. She is also an actress first spotted in “The Girl in The Spider’s Web” opposite Clare Foy. She has appeared in “Daliland” directed by Mary Harron opposite Ben Kinsley and Barbra Sukowa playing the iconic Amanda Lear. She has starred opposite Jim Sturgess in the “The Other Me” directed by Giga Agladze and produced by David Lynch. She was the first model to make a successful career in both womenswear and menswear. Pejic was discovered in 2007 while working at McDonalds and rose to fame after her 2010 Vogue Paris feature styled by Carine Roitfeld, where Pejić was photographed by Mert & Marcus. Pejić went on to walk in top runway shows such as Galliano, Marc Jacobs, Raf Simons, Paul Smith, and Jean Paul Gaultier where she opened the show in woman’s Haute Couture and closed the show in a men’s suit. After that Pejic became known as one of Gaultier’s muses and was highlighted in his print ads and walked as the mariée (bride) in his women’s wear Haute Couture Spring 2011 show. After completing her medical transition into womanhood at the peak of her gender non-conforming career and coming out publicly in 2014, Pejić broke boundaries and made history as the first transgender woman to be featured in American Vogue. Continuing on this success, Pejić also landed a cosmetic campaign with LVMH owned powerhouse brand Make Up For Ever, making her the first transgender woman to achieve such a partnership. The campaign changed the way the beauty industry embraces diversity. In 2016 she received a GQ Woman Of The Year award landing the April 2017 cover of GQ Portugal. Pejić has graced the covers of top fashion and entertainment publications, including the cover of OUT magazine where they named her one of the 100 most compelling people. She was also proclaimed a Global Thinker by Foreign Policy magazine in 2015.
Throughout her career she has shot with the biggest photographers for magazines such as W magazine, Vogue Italia, ID, Dazed and Confused, National Geographic. One of her most cherished achievements was in 2013, when Pejić co-starred in David Bowie’s music video for The Stars (Are Out Tonight) alongside Tilda Swinton. She has a half a million followers on Instagram and 68,000 thousand on Twitter. She is a devoted activist and uses her social media and voice to advocate for minority rights, democratic rights, human health, class inequality, war and against all forms of regression. While she has been credited for opening many doors for more diverse talent she holds strong democratic principles about artistic freedom. She believes that artistic expression requires its own freedom and should not be oppressed by political correctness and forced into disingenuous inclusion, i.e. the ticking of boxes. In 2016 she gave a speech at Oxford University against the threat of nuclear war. She believes in a harmonious future free of all forms of abuse and thinks that art has a big role to play in the battle for that future. Pejić continues to break barriers in the world of showbusiness and has been pursuing a documentary about her unique career and path to womanhood since 2013 which she is directing and editing. By being honest and open about her story she hopes to open people’s hearts and minds, if not completely then just a little bit.

Биография:
Ромина Тонкович (Загреб, 1994) — хорватская ведущая актриса своего поколения. В то же время Ромина строила карьеру как на международном рынке, так и на региональном уровне: при некоторой доле удачи и большом труде ей удалось поучаствовать во многих голливудских фильмах.
В 2021 году окончила Академию драматических искусств в Загребе, после чего стала сотрудницей драматического театра Хорватского национального театра Ивана пл. Зайц в Риеке. Придя в Национальный театр оперы и балета в Риеке, она сыграла в спектакле «Опасные связи», с которого началась ее профессиональная деятельность в этом театре. Ромина добилась заметных ролей в хорватских и международных постановках. Она сыграла главную роль в фильме «F20» режиссера Арсена Остоича, где ее партнером был Филип Майер. Она снялась в британском сериале «МакМафия», датском фильме «Ангел-хранитель» и шведском фильме «Даг за Дага». Она также отличилась в фильме Милана Тренца «Рыбалка и жалобы на рыбалку», где она успешно овладела хварским диалектом.[2]
Она завоевала ряд международных наград: премию за лучшую главную роль на «Los Angeles Independent Film Awards», премию за лучшую женскую роль на «Vienna International Film Awards», премию за лучшую женскую роль на «Sherman Oaks Film Festival» в Калифорнии и специальную премию дебютантке на «Florence Film Awards».

I went to ’’Crnjanski’’ high school on the English program and finished with an IB (International Baccalaureate) diploma. At the end of my fourth year, I got an invitation from AMDA (The American and Dramatic Academy) to come to New York and audition. I went and was accepted with a scholarship, but due to financial reasons, I stayed in Belgrade. In 2017 I enrolled in a Faculty of Contemporary Arts class with Vida Ognjenović and her assistant, Slobodan Beštić. I played in the academic theater “Krsmanac” in a play named “Vavilon.” In Obrenovac, in their National Theatre, at the festival “New Fortress Theater,” and in Čortanovci with the play named “Marriage and Betrothal, in Yugoslavia Drama Theater with a play named “Traveling Theater Šopalović” directed by Jagoš Marković. At the beginning of my second year of study, I got the lead role in the series called ‘’Debt to the Sea,’’ directed by Goran Gajić, and I played in a movie called “Dara from Jasenovac,” directed by Predrag Antonijević.
