Biography
Slagana Vujosevik is a Macedonian cinema, theatre, and TV actress with an international career.
She graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje and holds an MA in theatre arts and a PhD in film arts, both from Istanbul University.
She’s a talented artist who can speak multiple languages, allowing her to play a wide range of characters that go beyond age, language, and social limitations. Slagana recently made her feature debut in Goce Cvetanovski’s “The Business of Pleasure,” where she portrays Eleni, a journalist trying to expose the members of a human trafficking network. The film had its premiere and won “Best Feature Film” at the In the Palace Film Festival, and it was awarded at many other festivals in Europe, the USA, and Asia.
Slagana is the voice of the most popular animated children’s character in Macedonia, BIBI, in “Bibi’s World,” a project that encourages great values in children and has over 80 million views on the YouTube channel.
Furthermore, she is well known to the Turkish audience via her acting performances in the TV series “Aci Ask,” “Buyuk Surgun Kafkasya,” and ”Canevim”.
Vujosevik has played in more than 20 theatre performances in Macedonian, Turkish, English, and French. At the Theatre Festival “Voydan Chernodrinski,” she was awarded “The Best Young Actress” for the role of Helena in the play “Midsummer Night’s Dream,” directed by Aleksandar Popovski, at the Turkish Theatre in Skopje.
Slagana Vujosevik is one of the rare actresses who has a PhD diploma from Istanbul University, and she is the author of the thesis “The Cinema Acting in the Digital Era.” As an artist, she has supported campaigns for environmental, digital, and sexual violence awareness. For her remarkable work and for making a difference to others, Slagana Vujosevik was awarded Woman of the Year 2022 in North Macedonia.
