Sara Klimoska trained at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje and has successfully straddled the worlds of theatre and film on a national and international level. She was born on July 27, 1994, in Struga, Macedonia.  Her most recent leading role is in the film, YOU WON’T BE ALONE, directed by Goran Stolevski, produced by Causeway Films, co-produced and distributed by Focus Features in 2021, which had a world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in the World Dramatic Competition category. Prior to that, and working with the same director, Sara played the lead in WOULD YOU LOOK AT HER, which won the Jury Prize for Best International Short at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018.

In 2019, she was cast in the lead role in Willow by Academy Award-nominated director Milcho Manchevski. Among other honours, WILLOW was in the the feature film selection for Best Feature at the European Film Awards and was the Macedonian candidate for Academy Awards 2021.

Sara’s recent roles include a leading role in the new film of Milcho Manchevski’s KAYMAK, a supporting role in the German feature film NICO directed by Eline Gehring, a supporting role in a TV series Mocvara directed by Oleg Novkovic and the leading roles in three  productions: SABATIER EFFECT by Eleonora Veninova and the feature debut by director Igor Aleksov, LENA AND VLADIMIR and BAUK by Goran Radovanovic. Sara was part in both talent campus programs on Sarajevo film festival and Berlinale. In 2020, Sara was honored with the Best Film Actress Award in North Macedonia, handed out by the Macedonian Society of Filmmakers – an award near and dear to her heart.

Sara received the prestigious award of European Shooting Star in 2021.
