Biography
Rinal is a famous Russian actor, who is well-known for his talent, charisma, a charming smile as well as for his main roles in the projects of top directors.
Rinal Mukhametov was born and raised in the Tatar village of Alekseevskoye, 100 km from Kazan. By nationality, Rinal is half Russian, half Tatar. He’s been stuttering from early childhood, however it didn’t stop him from entering the circus department of the Kazan Theatre School. But after studying for two years he left for Moscow and got into the Moscow Art Theatre School onto the course of Kirill Serebrennikov.
Rinal made his debut on the stage of the Moscow Art Theater, while he was still a student, in the productions of “A Hero of Our Time” by Kirill Serebrennikov, “Fairies” by the French director David Bobee and “Karenin” by Viesturs Meikshans. After graduation he became an actor in “7th studios” and in 2012 he joined Gogol Centre, where he appeared in many experimental and memorable roles.
He started filming a year before graduation and made his debut in the military drama “Expiation” in a lead role where he played a young pilot August, a Jew by origin, who returned home to find out that his entire family died in the occupation. This was followed by a number of other interesting characters and films. But a real success was Rinal’s work in Fyodor Bondarchuk’s project “Attraction”, a science-fiction film about the landing of an alien ship in Moscow, where he played the mysterious alien Hakon.
Rinal’s repertoire is constantly growing and becoming more and more diverse featuring many high-profile projects, some of the latest ones including “The Battle”, “Temporary difficulties” “Coma” and serials “The Optimists” (two seasons), “Offline”, to name just a few.
In 2020 Rinal took up music seriously and since then he has released two solo albums and a video clip for one of his songs under his stage-name RINAL, which is a new kind of alternative rock that combines electronic music with theatrical experiment with a unique personal touch.
